Double Handed Race

Beautiful day for the SMSA DH race. Sun was out, too bad I did not wear sunscreen, now I look like a lobster. :) Wind was from the southwest around 10 at the start, diminishing to zero at the top of the course. Decsions, Decisions.... Follow Splash or Riddler. We chose poorly and ended up on the wrong side of a weird north shift when it finally filled back in. We tried hard and managed to pull off a second behind Riddler I think. Sharps Island 08

Beautiful run up to the light made for a nice day. Steady winds from the Southeast made coming back under the #2 pretty nice also. Opening day rockfish season complicated the upwind leg near the gas docks and we lost some time there. The fleet also fell into a hole there, which was very dissapointing.
